When you are a kid, one thing that might be on your agenda is to take risks. Along with myself, my friends like to take risks because it is just something that you need to accomplish in your life. There can be many types of situations that involve taking risks, but that is perfectly fine. You just need to be careful and not get yourself hurt while you are taking these risks. Some people are defined as the risk takers and they love to do it all the time. There are also the people who want to take risks, but are too scared that they will get caught.
In my life, I have taken many risks. Most of them I have come out alive and didn't get caught. There are also times where I have taken risks and got caught and was embarrassed that it happened. I have an advantage when I am taking risks, I do not know what that advantage is, but I have succeeded more times than I have failed. I am not the type of person who takes risks every single day, but I put a of thought in when I plan to take a risk.
I wouldn't say that the risks I take are a really big risk, but they aren't too bad. The risk I take the most is leaving track practice early everyday so I can go to the gym and lift, rather than lift in our schools' weigh room where it is jammed pack with kids. My coach tells me everyday that he wants me to lift here at the school, but I take the risk to leave and go to the gym, trying to escape my coach from seeing me leave. I have never got caught yet, but I know that I need to be careful because I do not want to be too confident because I will let my guard down.
Other risks I take are texting in class, copying off of a friend during a test or quiz, driving with too many friends in the car, drinking when I am underage, lying to my friends about something I have done, lying to my parents and much more. Like I said before, most times I am successful when I take risks. But there are times where I do get myself caught and I am embarrassed when it happens. I would say that the risk I take the most where I do get caught is texting in class. I have to be sneaky with it and yes I do succeed sometimes, but I am usually not surprised when I am getting yelled at for texting.
I also get caught when I lie to my parents or lie to my friends. When I lie to my friends, it isn't something big but they usually catch me because they know me so well and know how I act. I think it is a big concern when I lie to my parents because they can do the most damage to me. They can prevent me from going out with my friends, they can take my car away, they can basically take away all of my freedom. I tend to lean away from lying to my parents, but there has been times where I have lied and took risks, and didn't get caught.
Overall, taking risks is something that I have done numerous times in my life. I have been more successful in accomplishing it than getting caught, but the consequences when getting caught sucks. I know that I have to be careful and think before I actually do it. I am still young, but doing it when you are young won't hurt you as much when you do it at an older age. You only live once, but don't let your guard down.
